Life was Living Me, Rather than Me Living My Life
Life was Living Me, Rather than Me Living My Life

It was 1998, I was 35 years old, divorcing with a one and a 5-year old. It took everything I had physically, mentally and spiritually to stay afloat and support my boys. It was a difficult season of life and I am grateful that the hard work and perseverance paid off. Now that I am on the "other side", I started COME ALIVE life coaching practice to help others successfully move thorough seasons of transition towards their best futures.

Life was living me, rather than me living my life. Ever since I could remember – I wanted to do it all. I am an all or nothing kind of a person. So imagine wanting to do it all, and giving 100% to everything! I couldn’t say no. So I said yes to everything. It does not take a rocket scientist to see that I was not living MY life. Instead Life was LIVING ME.

BLIND leading the blind. It became quite apparent to me after my boys were born that life was living me. Life was not what I wanted or imagined. You see, I wanted to be by boys’ primary influencer. AND I wanted a successful career. AND I wanted a wonderful lovely marriage – the kind of marriages I saw on TV but one that I never observed being raised by a single adoptive mom (I was adopted when I was 8 years old.) So my first marriage was the proverbial blind leading the blind. It is by the Grace of God that my boys are doing really well today – one is 34 years old, happily married with a 2 and a 9 mo old, and the other 29 and very happily married.

Making a Difference. With respect to my career, despite the fact that my career took a back seat for 20-plus years - I attained an Executive Director position with a nonprofit in 2018. But after 3 years of that, I realized it was not what I really wanted to do – what I wanted was to make a difference in people’s lives directly. So after my family and friends said I am a natural coach, I decided to open a coaching practice. My desire is that through coaching, I can help men and women successfully move through seasons of transition with meaning and purpose, prioritizing what is most important to them. My hope is that they live with hope and excitement towards their dreams!
