Difference Between Happy and Unhappy People
Have you wondered why some people seem to always be happy? They seem to always have a smile on their face or act like nothing bothers them. You might be thinking they are faking it. While it is true that we often fake what we do n't feel for social reasons, here are 5 key qualities commonly shared by people who are generally happy and people who are generally unhappy. When I say "generally", I mean we all have happy and unhappy moments but the general feeling we have is one of contentment or discontentment.
Generally, unhappy people …
feel they don’t have control over their lives; they often feel stuck and feel they have no options. The result? They settle;
have unmet dreams;
see the world through the glass half empty lens;
have lost hope in many areas of their lives;
do not invest in themselves.
Happy people…
feel they have control over their lives and they exercise that control over themselves, they don't try to control others or circumstances;
see the world through the glass half-full lens and work through their distrust;
accept who they are and have peace;
have resilience - they invest in themselves and when they are feeling stuck, they seek help;
live with hope and pursue their dreams.
Moreover, happy people generally do not want to be around unhappy, negative people. The result is negative people often hang with other negatrive people feeding their negativities. So, where do you fall? If you find yourself in the unhappy category, you can change that. The process is simple, but hard, as with all things worth pursuing. It starts with focusing on your hopes and desires, and assessing where you are at currently. Ask yourself, have you lost trust in yourself? Why? Have you lost hope in a better future? Why?
